Abrahadabra - The Alchemical Book of Mirrors
Abrahadabra: First Triangle

What you are looking at in the above glyph actually amounts to one of the most remarkable alchemical "proofs" you are ever likely to come across. Unfortunately, very few occultists are sufficiently disciplined thinkers to recognize it. I will attempt (albeit briefly) to explain what is happening here. One of the first things I observed about the Abrahadabra grid was that it appeared to contain the geometry of the Tree of Life tucked neatly within itself as I have discussed in other places and will likely discuss again. Much of what motivated me to continue exploring the formula of Abrahadabra was based upon this peculiarity of geometrical super-symmetry, but any good theoretician knows that appearances can be misleading and it is often possible to simply see only what you want to see and make too much of it. Little by little, additional confirmations began pouring in, all of them supporting the notion that Abrahadabra is to the Tree of Life what a nuclear power plant might be to a rod of radioactive plutonium.

This particular form of ascending and descending triangles is one of the oldest known to humankind. It subdivides into four equilateral parts the same as the circle does, so it is more closely married to the circle than other triangle forms. It can be found at least as far back as ancient India corresponding to the goddess Kali, but aside from its age also happens to be the most efficient means possible of asserting perfect closed triangles in two directions utilizing one continuous motion. The way we accomplish this is to begin at apex and run an outer sweep for the ascending triangle, drop plumb to its base and loop back, completing the internal descending triangle. What happens when we do this on the Abrahadabra grid is frankly startling. The ley lines of the triangle pass dead center through every single sephiroth on the Tree of Life itself, omitting none, and redeposit this acquired inertia in the final sephiroth, called Malkuth, or Kingdom, respectively. Geometry doesn't lie and whether you like the formula of Abrahadabra or don't like it doesn't amount to a hill of beans compared to the proof established in its lines. It is without a doubt very intimately related to the Tree of Life and appears to be a maintenance mechanism of profound magnitude...too vast in some ways to even be grasped all at once. It even calls into question the Tree of Life origins themselves, since we know that the Abrahadabra grid rivals the Sepher Yetzirah, for instance, and may actually date to an earlier period in time, though this discussion will have to be reserved for later. A few at least have suggested that Abrahadabra itself may originate from ancient Hebrew esotericism, though I do not have any credible confirmation of this and tend to doubt it personally.

All of the mantric formulas laid out in this treatise are examples. None of them need to be regarded as sacrosanct to the point of displacing any others that may happen to serve you better, but the ones I have elected to display are those which have been deemed exemplary in at least several important categories. You can take them or leave them but you should at least adapt their finer qualities in replacing them so that you may be sure to get their equivalent value. The formula of Hva-Athh has been discussed at length in the work of Aleister Crowley but does not originate with him. The formula "Hva" (pronounced HOO-AHH) is a long established formula corresponding to the ascending triangle and has additional importance according to its 4-part spelling AHVH, making it synonymous with the "Jen", or Man-Line value in the Hexagrams, which I will discuss at length in due course. The Formula Athh (pronounced AHTH-HAY) references "Tau" in the Hebrew alphabet which is the final, or Omega letter in that system and is most commonly associated to Earth in the Tarot and elsewhere. Together they happen to add up to 418 by AIK BKR, a popular and very old Hebrew numerology. Abrahadabra also adds to 418, so the marriage is a good one both in terms of numbers as well as geometry.

I will attempt to explain exactly how this meditation is employed, but you have to understand that unless you actually perfect the actions on your own, you are never really going to grasp the impact of this alchemical formula which is easily the most athletic (and just plain strongest) energy formula I have yet encountered. If you learn nothing else from this site but how to implement this formula you will be positioned light years ahead of many others in my view, since this particular formula happens to be more inclusive of other well defined systems than any other I have ever observed.

Remember that I have said that in the Abrahadabra system we always begin and end at center...not at Apex and not in Earth as is the case with many other systems. This is a star meditation practice so we always position ourselves dead-center to the star and work energy in all directions from center. So you begin from center and pool your energy together and at the appropriate time reach to apex to begin. The outer triangle is clear enough. Draw from Apex downward, pronouncing AH-HAY-OH-AH at their corresponding coordinates, returning to Apex. On the drop you do something slightly unexpected. At the base of the triangle you pronounce the entire word "TAH" and while this word is still ringing you loop back on the entire descending triangle and come to close on the word "HAY" which is subsequently straightened out and dropped vertically downwards, then allowed to float back to center where you started. Because this formula is linked archetypically to the "the lord of the horizon", I always find myself wanting to span out horizontally upon the final return to center in a little zig-zag dance action from wing to wing, but this is optional and just sort of comes naturally to those who work this formula a lot. It's a very energetic formula and it can be difficult to contain the excess, so shaking a little off is kind of a natural impulse. So long as you are not breaking form with the collection and depositing actions, there is nothing to be concerned about and a little stylization just means you are getting kind of good at the instrument.

Between the Circle and the Triangle we have all our bases covered so far as our essential centering and grounding activity goes and as you work with these tools and begin to polish up your form you will find yourself wanting to engage a great deal more and there is a great deal more that this system has to offer you...more than you could probably perfect in several lifetimes actually but this is nothing to be concerned about. There are some things you really do take with you...
